Tale of Woe

I am not a rich person, I am not living on the street either. I did come up from a very meager background.  My mother kept her family afloat by doing everything in her power to provide for my sisters and I.  My father struggled like many men of today do.  He had to battle his demons, mostly alcohol sensitivity to the demands of the world.  We were forced into labor at a very early age, babysitting and gardening. No allowances for us.
I tried the college scene but really didn't have the direction or the encouragement. I then began a very good career with the telephone company.  I married and divorced with no children of my own.  I moved from Orange County to San Luis Obispo and bought a condo only a few blocks from the beach and close enough to a State Park.  It was a nice place and one that I would not have been able to afford on my own in Newport or Huntington Beach.  I went to work every day and build up a bit of a retirement.  I watched the tech com boom and bust. I avoided the mortgage boom by following the old standards of debt to income ratio. I lived through the cold-war, Cuban missile crisis, Y2K and a good likelihood that I will 2012.
Then I tried to refinance my condo to take advantage for a lower interest rate and they appraised it for a really LOWBALL rate and I just found out it was because some yea who bought nine low income duplexes at the height of the real estate market and then let them all go back to the bank just around the corner. Now there was a 300% increase  and back down to the original price I paid in  1997.  What the heck is going on?  Sooo much confusion and of course millions of us homeowners have suffered the same fate.  We all suffer from our fellow human kinds greed and carelessness.
Oh shucks.  I have watched  the collective craze go on enough times that when I stumbled across the verses in Isaiah 10:1 and its warning of catastrophic events destroying a nation of wealth and power.  I don't want to see it as repenting or anything like that, its just WAKE UP to all those who imbue the exploitation of the young and old, poor and weak.
We can not continue this brainless activity of reacting and overspending to the whims of the fools being manipulated by the puppet masters.  Is there any more good old reasoning and common sense?  To many politicians, journalists, and leaders (all story tellers) are trying to say that western logic and reasoning lead to racism.  Because by believing in this sort of thinking, you are ascribing to the "white man's philosophy and therefore you are a racist.  Now what was that theory called by Derrick Bell? Critical Race Theory and I have no idea what it means.  Let us not jump to conclusion and do more research.
As a side note I did go back to graduate after I retired from the phone company.
